The Southwest has been occupied by many different peoples over thousands of years. It is not surprising that the remains of their ancestors' cultures are scattered across the landscape. From the famous centers such as Chaco Canyon to the humble field houses to be found on practically every ridge and mesa top, these extraordinary examples of ancient architecture provide us with a link to the lives of the first humans to settle North America.
